All about Ms. A
I am a Colorado transplant (surprise, surprise). I was born and raised in Hillsboro, New Hampshire and came to Colorado for my undergraduate studies at the University of Denver. Needless to say, I never moved back east! I currently live in Arvada with my husband, Jason (a Colorado native), our toddler (another native), Everett and our miniature schnauzer's Eddy and Morgan.
After spending some time teaching United States Figure Skating sanctioned curriculum to kids and taking a variety of career type tests, I realized I love kids and should probably become a teacher. So I enrolled in the University of Colorado Denver teaching license program. I have a Masters of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Information and Learning Technologies. I am endorsed in K-12 Educational Technology and Gifted and Talented Instruction.
I have experience teaching 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grades. 5th grade is definitely my favorite grade to teach!
In my spare time, I am a competitive synchronized figure skater with La Furia Synchronized Skating Teams. I also enjoy skiing and snowboarding the beautiful Colorado Rocky Mountains when I'm not training at the rink. I also spend a lot of my spare time at the APEX Center in Arvada weight training, running, and practicing Yoga or Pilates. My continued goal is trying to figure out how to balance being a good Mom and teacher.
I am so thrilled to be your child's teacher this upcoming school year!
Here's to a great year,
Mrs. Archibald
