As we wind down the school year, it is important to remind your child that we are spending this week still learning! Yes we are winding down, but the structure and expectations are still the same. Here are the things we will be working on this week:
Reading Core: A final broadside expressing an opinion on the American Revolution. Due FRIDAY.
Social Studies: We will be watching videos on the American Revolution and we will participate in three Breakout EDU escape rooms. We finished our first one today and was working on the final lock when time ran out. Ask your child what the Breakout was about.
6th Grade Math: 6th Grade math is working on an origami math project to discover surface area of 3-D objects. Due FRIDAY.
5th Grade Math: 5th Grade math students are working on creating math games. These are due TOMORROW.
Writing: Final letter to future 5th graders describing how-to survive 5th grade. Due WEDNESDAY-FRIDAY.
Guided Reading: Students who read My Brother Sam is Dead or Chains are working on a paper bag book report project. Due FRIDAY.
As subjects are completed, students will be bringing home or disposing of subject folders/notebooks and cleaning out lockers on Friday. Today we emptied out our Science/Social studies section. Tomorrow 6th grade math will be cleaning out their math section. Wednesday-Friday, writing will be cleaned and the remaining will be cleaned out on Friday. Please make sure your child is coming to school with a backpack so he/she can bring home supplies at ease.
If anyone has a card board box they would like to send to me, we are also collecting markers to send back to Crayola for recycling.
Thank you and please let me know if you have any questions.
